An oral history interview with Natalie J. Ford. The interview was conducted by Sarah Boye at the Grand Avenue Neighborhood Center in Orlando, Florida, on May 31, 2025. Some of the topics covered include growing up in Orlando and her family’s background in education, experiencing school desegregation and its impact on her education, attending private school and her early aspirations, her career as an educator and coaching experience, founding the Nap Ford School and its community importance, entrepreneurship in Parramore when she was growing up, defining Parramore’s boundaries and neighborhood identity, community challenges in the past and the importance of connection, the role of Shiloh Baptist Church in her family and community service, her father Napoleon Ford’s service as commissioner and legacy, challenges facing Parramore today and the importance of self-reliance, how residents can get involved and take part in community improvement, Parramore’s legacy and what it means to her, and her final thoughts on continuing her father’s work.
